DDH9 Challenge: Handmade Flowers ~ Week 1

Ready for a NEW Challenge??

Our NEW Challenge is Handmade Flowers. Michelle is our hostess for the next 2 weeks on the DDH blog.

I used a 3/4" and 5/8" circle punch to create my flower.  The paper used is a DDH FREE download Black and White II.  I used a pinched circle flower technique - if you'd like to see a video on how it is done - click HEREHeather Scott made this fabulous video.  I added a second layer (5/8" punch) to make my flower fuller.

The image is DDH Swans.  This is a great image for an anniversary or wedding card. I colored the white floss with Copics to match the cardstock.
Supplies-- Digi: DDH Swans, Papers: DDH Black and White II, Raven, Whirlpool, Copics: N1, N4, B000, BG10, Bone Floss, Buttons, White Souffle pen, 5/8" punch, 3/4" punch.

Next week I will have another card with a flower made of ribbon.

We would love it if you played along! This challenge is open until 6 pm (CST) Sunday, July 10th. Visit DDH and add a link to your creation to our card gallery and you will have a chance to win a FREE DDH Digi!

Vintage Rides ~ Sneak Peek!

We have another Sneak Peek today on Savvy Project Blog.  This set is called Vintage Rides and was designed by one of our new illustrators Nina B.

You can purchase Vintage Rides before the new catalog comes out for $16.95 (retail $23.95).  This offer ends June 30th.

I used a red, white and blue theme today since it is Flag Day.  Kerry our hostess today on Savvy invited the design team to make cards today with this theme. YAY!

I love this plane.  It is colored with Copics (B41, B45, B37, R24, R29, R59, W1,  W2, W3) the cut out with mini kai scissors.  The papers are Great Lakes and Berrylicious.  The clouds are punched circles in different sizes, shaded with Copics and outlined with a Copic Multiliner pen.

This set is so fun. Love it.

Hope you enjoy today and the rest of the sneak peeks this month!

Abundant Blessings
Deb

TAC June Blog Hop - Favorites

Ready for a Hop?

This is a fun one - OK they are all fun, but we get to see everyones favorites.  What is your favorite set?  I had a really hard time choosing.  I went with a classic set Happy Trails  - one that I've had numerous customers order over the years and one I just got in the last few months believe it or not.

I've been thinking about this card for awhile.  I was looking for something simple, relatively easy to make several.  I make cards for the shut-ins at our church almost every month and thought this would be a good one, something different than flowers.

The horse is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on kraft cardstock punched with Labels Large nestabilities.  I colored the horse with Copics (E31, E33, E37, E47).  The background is chalk - Basic Brights, a teal to match the Rustic Chic paper.

I finished it with some hemp cord (still had it out from my Relax & Fish sneak peek card - that new set would qualify as a favorite of mine as well!) tied like a lasso - at least that was what I was going for.

Supplies -- Stamps: Happy Trails, Papers: Rustic Chic, Kraft cardstock, Bazzill Pinecone, Inks: Memento Rich Cocoa ink, Labels Large Nestabilities, Basic Bright Chalks, Copics, Hemp cord.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the hop.

Abundant Blessings,
Deb

Relax and Fish - Sneak Peek!

Today we have another Sneak Peek! I can't wait to see the catalogue at the end of the month. From the bits I've seen we are going to have some fabulous new images. This is Relax & Fish - isn't it a great masculine image? I had a LOT of fun coloring it.

Like usual, I studied the image. I actually searched online to get an idea how to color the fish. Is it a Salmon? Rainbow trout? Still not sure. I picked a salmon. Then I compared my general color palette to my TAC paper swatch book and came up with Winchester as a great match for the colors I had in mind.

I colored the image with Copic markers. I ended up using a lot of colors and even some of the new ones released this year.
Fish: W1, W3, R01, R02, E30; Trees and Foliage: E31, E33, E55, E57, E59, E87, YG91, BG93; Water: BG70, BG72, BG75, BG78, B21; Fisherman: E21, E13, YR24, W3, YG91

The sky is a light pastel blue chalk. The edges of the image are sponged with Cognac and Burnt Umber Palette ink.

This image has my Dad written all over it. So I added "for you Dad" from Thinking of You...one of my favorite word sets. Also some hemp cord from the local craft store, just a little rustic touch to finish it off.
Supplies-- Stamps: T-3473 Relax & Fish, Thinking of You, Papers: Winchester SWIC and Cardstock, Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Cognac and Burnt Umber Palette ink, Copics, Pastel chalks, hemp cord.

You can purchase this stamp before the catalog comes out for only $6.95 ($8.95 retail).  This offer ends June 30th.

Hope you enjoy today's Sneak Peek!

Abundant Blessings,
Deb
