Our Daily Bread - For Unto You

Merry Christmas!

Today, I have this years Christmas card.  I used a stamp I've had for a few years, from Our Daily Bread Stamps. The set is 'For Unto You' and is a chalkboard stamp.  I made 75 cards this year and started late, after Thanksgiving, so I tried to keep it simple.

I stamped the chalkboard image with dark indigo ink on 3.5 x 4.25" white cardstock, then trimmed the image to an equal white border.  Tied a white ribbon around the base card and added the image panel.  Lastly, I added the gem over the center of the star in the image.  It went pretty quick with my husbands help with assembly and getting the envelopes ready with address labels and stamp.

Cardstock - PTI Dark Indigo and White
Ink - PTI Dark Indigo
Darice Clear Crystal Gem
1/4" White grosgrain ribbon (Papermart.com)

Wishing you a Christmas and New Year filled with
Jesus' goodness, peace, comfort and Love.

Close to My Heart - Punny Pals

Happy Saturday!

Today, I have fun birthday card for my grand-nephew who turned 4 yesterday.  He loves tigers, so I thought Close to My Heart's "Punny Pals" was the perfect stamp set to use for his card this year.

This set is CTMH's Operation Smile stamp set.  When you purchase this stamp set, CTMH will donate $7 USD of the proceeds to Operation Smile™, a non-profit organization that provides surgeries to repair cleft lips and palates for children around the world.

The image was stamped with Memento black ink on white X-Press It blending cardstock.  I colored the tiger image with Copic markers: YR02, YR04, YR06, W5, W7;  Background: BG000, W1,W3, W5.  Simple and quick.

The papers are from My Favorite Things "Fun and Frolic".

PaperTrey ink - Hands of Time

Happy Saturday!

Today I have a card I made with a new set I got from PaperTrey Ink called "Hands of Time".  I've liked this set since it first came out however since it was on their retiring list I decided to get it.  I looked on their website and the stamp  set is no longer available.

I created 2 cards using Papertrey Ink inks Soft Stone, Smokey Shadow and True Black.  Cardstock is PTI Soft Stone and Smokey Shadow. The patterned paper is PTI Soft Stone.

The clock faces were stamped, on the Soft Stone cardstock, in Smokey Shadow ink and it is hard to see in the picture but they are stamped in soft stone ink also to create a watermark background.  The hands were stamped in black and cut out using my Brother Scan N Cut, which makes it easy.

Simon Says Stamp! Thanks

Happy Saturday!

Today I have a really simple card using another die edge from my collection.  I've had this dies for some time so I'm so glad I pulled it out and used it.  The die is from Simon Says Stamp! 'Thanks Scallop Border'.

A card really does get faster than this one, this die cuts all the details and paired it with PaperTrey Ink Hawaiian Shores cardstock and patterned paper.

I'm really loving the coordinating patterned papers PTI came out with.

Making a set of cards would be a great gift idea for a new mom, grad or bride.

Simon Says Stamp! - Heart Breeze

Happy Saturday!

Today, I have two really simple cards that highlight some dies I've had for some time.  I've been collecting dies for the last couple years.  There are so many out there and I'm drawn to ones that have stitching incorporated.

The heart swirl is a called 'Heart Breeze' and is from Simon Says Stamp!  Such a sweet die. It does not cut, other than the hearts and dots, so I combined it with a My Favorite Things 'Stitched Basic Edges' die.  This is a really neat die, it has stitches on both sides the cut, so you end up with 2 panels which are mirror image of each other.

The ink, cardstock and patterned papers are PaperTrey Ink Pure Poppy and white.  I created a second card with a stitched edge at the top also.

My Favorite Things - Hooray Birthday

Happy Saturday!

I have a fun birthday card today, which I made for our niece who graduated from high school a couple weeks ago.  It was her birthday that week too.

This Hooray die was a freebie with order from My Favorite Things.  The brush strokes is a stamp from Simon Says Stamp! "Brush Stroke Messages".  The sentiment is also from Simon Says Stamp! - "It's Your Birthday" stamp set.

The inks used for the brush strokes are PTI Raspberry Fizz, Orange Zest, Limeade Ice, Hawaiian Shores and Royal Velvet.  I cut the Hooray from the stamped panel (I hope to use the cut piece on a card sometime) then cut a Hooray from black cardstock to set in the stamped panel.

I added a white and black mat and also some smooth bubble gems.

Taylored Expressions - Birthday Peonies

 Happy Saturday!

I have a few more cards I made with Taylored Expressions - Simply Stamped Peonies stamp set.  I shared the Mother's Day card I made a couple weeks ago.  I made these birthday cards that same week using the same set, ink and papers.

The peony flowers are 3 step stamps for each the 3 peony flowers sizes.  I used PTI inks - Sweet Blush, Pale Peony and Berry Sorbet.  The leaves are a 2 step stamp.  I used PTI Spring Moss and Simply Chartreuse ink.

I used a mix of dies for these cards.  For the above card, I used 2 dies to create the white panel.  First I cut a stitched rectangle using a Lil Inkers Designs die, then cut the scalloped edge with Simon Says Stamp! die Twisted Stitch Borders

The second card also uses 2 dies - MFT Sentiment Label and Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp! "It's You Birthday".
Cardstock is from PTI Pale Peony and the coordinating patterned paper.

Taylored Expressions Graduation

 Happy Saturday!

It is graduation weekend for 2 of our nieces, one from high school and the other from Notre Dame.  I created 2 cards in their school colors, black and gold and navy and gold.  Both girls are graduating this weekend in different states so sadly we could not be at both ceremonies.

This card came together pretty quickly with these great die cuts.  I was really excited to find them.  The celebrating graduates border is from Taylored Expressions "Eventful - Graduation".  I combined it with a My Favorite Things die - Congratulations circle frame.

The black stripe is a MFT paper pad.  The navy is PTI Dark Indigo patterned paper.  If you haven't seen PTI's coordinating patterned paper to their cardstock it is something to check out.  I'm loving the exact color match and simple patterns.  The sheets are double sided too, one side is large pattern, the other small pattern.  The congratulations circle frame is cut from gold sparkle cardstock from MFT.

Happy Birthday Swap

Happy Saturday!

Some of the ladies from The Angel Company decided to do a swap.  How fun right?  It has been a long time since I've done one and never to this scale - 39 ladies signed up!  It was quite the package I mailed.

So, I created a card using PaperTrey Ink stamps, inks and cardstock - also a new die stack I bought from My Favorite Things.  My prototype is above.

I cut more than the required 39 for the swap so I made a few for myself.
One being a Thank You card (below), which I sent to a friend who had us over for Easter dinner.

Supplies List:

Stamps: PTI “Heart 2 Heart#7”; Happy Birthday sentiment from “Bigger Blooms”; Thank You sentiment from Simon Says Stamp "Brush Stroke Messages"

Cardstock: PTI - Raspberry Fizz, Simply Chartreuse and White

My Favorite Things - Tic Tac Toe

Happy Sunday!

This week, I have a card I made the week of Valentine's Day. I had this idea for Valentine's Day, but didn't get the card made in time, so it will be an anniversary card. Can't believe it has been 18 years today!

This is My Favorite Things - Tic Tac Toe and Square shaker frame die.  This die has a matching stamp set X's and O's, which has the great sentiment 'Love Wins', which I used on the inside of the card.   I made 2 versions of the tic tac toe in white and black to use all the cut outs. I used an embossing folder heart background to add another layer and some texture.

Which do you like better?  I can't decide.  The black background is kind of like a chalkboard which is fun.

Details:
Stamps: My Favorite Things X's and O's
Dies: My Favorite Things Tic Tac Toe and Square shaker and Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangles
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug Hearts
Papers: PTI Poppy Red, White and Black

PaperTrey Ink - 7th Inning Stretch

Happy Saturday!

Today, I have a baseball card I made last weekend.  I've had this set for quite some time it is from PaperTrey Ink - "7th Inning Stretch" and die set.

I made a few with different patterned papers.  The bat is die cut from Kraft cardstock, then I stamped it with a woodgrain stamp and Chocolate Brown ink.  Then created the grip with masking tape.  The stitching is an Angel Company stamp - Running Stitches, which was nice to use again.

I ended up pulling out some TAC stamps last weekend.  Some TAC ladies were doing a card swap so I was working on that also.  I didn't actually use TAC stamps for my swap but I had them out. I will share my swap card in May.

Supplies List:

Stamps: PTI "7th Inning Stretch
Inks: PTI - Pure Poppy, Chocolate Brown
Cardstock: PTI - Kraft and White

Sympathy - Brayer Ink Background

Happy Saturday!

I was looking through Pinterest for inspiration and was reminded of a brayer technique I hadn't done in years with reinker inks and baby wipe.

I placed the wipe on a large acrylic block and inked it with purples, blues and greens.  Then I used a brayer to pick up the stripes and apply the ink to the paper.  Originally I was hoping to create a landscape scene, but it I didn't come up with anything I liked so I just die cut the background and stamped a the sentiment and added some smooth bubble gems.

The mat is vellum, another inspiration from a card I saw online.  I always forget about using vellum, it adds a lot of interest.

In the end this card took 3 weeks to come together.  Sometimes it is just hard, but I love how it came together in the end.

Here is a second card with the background, this one I pressed the paper on the inked wipe so the texture transferred.

Details:
Stamp: The Cat's Meow - Hope Blooms
Die: Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangles
Papers: PTI White, Indigo Blue, Vellum
Embellishments: Recollections smooth bubble gems

Nina B Spring Printable Postcards

Happy Sunday!

It has been awhile since I posted, but have created quite a few cards so far in 2018.  So I have a few upcoming posts scheduled.

I printed out some of Nina B's Spring postcards late last year, with the intention of making some cards over the Christmas break.  I didn't get to it during my time off, but in January I was able to get some cards made using these printables.  I added some stitching and lace to make these cards.

It is always nice to have some cards on hand when you hear of someone having surgery, going through a loss or needing encouragement.  There are also a couple birthday postcards in the Spring set.

Unfortunately, these print files are not available on etsy anymore, NinaBPrintables may be available by request.  You can see Nina's latest creations on Facebook.  I think her art is a wonderful inspiration.

Here are 2 using the 'Praying for You' postcard...

I also made a couple using the 2 Happy Birthday postcards.

Lastly, I've used this post card before and I just love it.
Makes a great card of encouragement for anyone.
